About Lyte Ladders and Towers

Lyte Ladders & Towers, the UK’s leading manufacturer of ladders & mobile towers, is 75 years old and still going strong. Like our ladders, we’re built to last.

Established in 1947 and British-made, we have been the supplier of choice for everyone from large corporates to single traders. You’ll see the Lyte logo on ladders everywhere from Telecomm companies to Window Cleaners, Electricians to Joiners; in fact, whatever you need Lyte will have the product to match!

Even the first men to climb Mt. Everest brought a Lyte ladder with them! What’s more – the ladder’s still there. Our ladders are as tough as nails and built to last!

We’re the supplier of choice because we have used the last 75 years to innovate and improve our products, always focusing on safety, comfort and durability.

And because we manufacture in the UK, rather than import ladders from around the world, we have a lower carbon footprint and security of supply as we are not dependent upon international shipping.

Our Product Durability

Ladder Testing

We try to test our products to destruction but keep failing! Our internal testing puts all our products through the equivalent of a 24 stone person using them 50,000 times. At that point, we give up as the ladders don’t even show a scratch… but we have to find a replacement 24 stone tester! It’s this durability that gave us the top spot when Sky selected us as their ladder supplier.

Double Bubble

Every Lyte ladder rung is double bubbled. Whereas the rungs on other ladders are bubbled on just the outside, we bubble every rung on both the inside and the outside of each stile ensuring your ladder keeps its structural integrity and so remains rock solid year after year after year.

Service and Inspections

Lyte Ladders and Towers are able to inspect our products on-site. This includes basic repairs on Lyte products which increases the lifetime of the product. We also supply ladder tags and inserts which allow our clients to keep track of repairs and maintenance.

Our Product Innovation

We pride ourselves on a culture of constant improvement, innovation and working with customers to develop bespoke solutions that have resulted in our range of reliable and versatile ladders and access equipment. Here are some examples…

Modular Podiums

The two most important things that Hire companies look for when buying access equipment are health and safety and durability.

Our Lytepod Podiums are the best in the market because we built them in partnership with Brandon Hire Station, experts in hiring podiums and towers.

Health and Safety is paramount in the Hire industry so our build quality and features such as integrated stabiliser bars make our Podiums the ones to trust.

Working together with the industry we developed “modular Podiums”, so like a Meccano set, if one part gets damaged or misplaced you can quickly & easily replace it ensuring that the Podium can be used again and again.

The Butterfly

Having worked with BT for many years developing their bespoke range of ladders, they challenged us to develop a solution to keep the ladder stable when resting against the round shape of a telegraph pole. So we developed “the butterfly”.

Its unique design allows the ladder to rest securely against a whole range of different shaped posts and poles, giving confidence and safety to the user. So no user goes “flying” with this “butterfly”!

It has proved so successful that we supply this unique item to other commercial customers and councils.
